Last Saturday night, AT LAST, I went to Burswood casino. Gosh, I've been in Perth for one n a half year, what a shame!! xp I did not gamble... hmm... being a good girl in there. =) Later on, frens and i went to have some fun!! Okay, not to mention more about that. I would like to talk more on what i have had experience in SilverChain wound clinic for these 3 days...
Well, basically, my job is to OBSERVE! Observe the wounds, how the nurses change the dressings, types of dressing being used, some of the tests, bandagings, injections, etc.... Initially, it was interesting. But slowly, I was yawning there. As I just stood at the side n SEE. I did ask some questions but still abit =_=.
There were so many chronic wounds being managed by SilverChain. I encountered one of the wounds which is due to abdominal hernia is not going to heal. I can the see the wound is oozing some fluid and the bowel movement... Besides that, there is another patient with hernia problem as well. Part of her bowel is being covered by SKIN ONLY. U can see the contour of bowel!!
There was one wound that shocked me. It smelled when i entered the room and the wound was gross!! The cause of the wound made me frowned. The patient showed other healed woundssssssss on leg and hands, which were caused by the SAME reason! He never care about his body n health!! So sad...
I did one home visit with a nurse to help a patient to change her dressing. When i reached her house, there was a sign writte 'Beware of dog'... Well, i'm abit of afraid of dogs... So, I was really careful. But who knows, the dogs that she has were small little cute doggies!!! I tot it'd be a big black fierce looking dog... haha...!
Time during this year pass real fast... It is end of June already!!! Oh no, I have to keep up the pace!!! I'm abit behind!!
